Solids anyone?

We finally offered Aubrey solids for the first time. I made cereal for her which was very runny. Being our first time, too, we didn't really know what we were doing. Some of it went in, a lot of it came out, but overall she liked it.

The Fastners visit!

What a busy week we had last week!! The Fastners were in town and we had a blast! They arrived Friday the 13th and were here through the 23rd. While they were here, Jeff and I played in the Luau tournament, had a wonderful party at our house, did some shopping with Jenn and Tanner, went to the pumpkin patch and attended Christine and Brad Pentzien's wedding. It was so much fun but also very exhausting. In order for Jeff and I to attend a couple of the events, both sets of grandparents took their turn in babysitting Aubrey. As usual, she was a very good baby! To boot, Aubrey set a new streak of 8 nights in a row of sleeping through the night! Hopefully we can break that record again soon. :)

our first BBQ...surprised Jeff with a cake for his birthday, too!

We enjoyed our time with the Fastners. Tanner is such a cutie! It's hard to even remember when Aubrey was his size. Time sure flies and they do indeed grow up quickly! She is such a big girl now with her endless smiles! I'm sure the next time we get to see Tanner, he'll be doing the same! If the Cubs keep winning, the visit might come sooner than later....
Recently Aubrey has learned how to grab her feet and stick them in her mouth! She is also getting better at taking out her pacifier and putting it back in! Plus, she has learned how to roll from her back to her belly. It takes her a while to get her arm out but she is becoming very good at it. She can only roll to her right so I am working with her on going to her left. Once that's done, we'll work on rolling from her belly to her back. Such a small feat is so difficult for the little ones. But, once she learns it, she doesn't want to stop. Before long she is going to be moving everywhere! We'd better start the baby proofing soon!!
Lastly, Aubrey has another new cousin! Jinger (Jeff's sister) and Gus Bilquist are the proud parents of Carson Kenneth Bilquist. He was born Saturday, September 21st at 5:39pm. He weighed in at 7lb 10oz and 21 inches. We haven't met him yet but are hoping to see him this weekend. His big sister, Natalie, sure is proud of her little brother

Four month appointment

I know I sound like a broken record, but Aubrey's growth still amazes me. Today's appointment was much like the previous appointments and she is still doing extremely well. All of her developments are on course for babies her age. But, her actual measurements are above and beyond. She currently weighs 14 pounds, 15 ounces (75th percentile) and measures 26 7/8 inches (>95th percentile). Her height is equal to that of an eight month old!

She also had round two of all of her shots today. Although she took them like a champ, she did turn up the bottom lip and let the tears pour out. However, after a few minutes of mommy and daddy time, the tears were gone and she was ready to head home. What a great little girl we have! (originally posted on Babysites)
