Repeat...weekend away again

This weekend, Jeff was standing up in yet another wedding. This time it is for Paul and Melissa Richardson. Paul was our best man and is one of Jeff's closest friends. The wedding was held in Effingham, Illinois, about 3 hours away, so we had to leave Aubrey behind again. Jeff's parents are taking her this time.

We had a great time at the ceremony and reception. We were able to spend time with Matt and Robyn (the newlyweds) and catch up with them. It was also wonderful to see the love Paul and Melissa share. We're very happy for them.

Unfortunately, right before we left, all of had the flu. We thought we were over it but Aubrey had a little bout of it while we were gone. Some TLC from Grandma and Grandpa made it all better. Once again, she did great while we were gone. Luckily, no more trips for a while!

Another birthday...

Today we celebrated Carson's first birthday. Again, time flies. It seems like he was just born yesterday. Aubrey had a lot of fun at the party today. They had a jumping pit set up which she absolutely loved. We couldn't keep her out of there. We were hoping that she would sleep through the night after being so worn out. But, no such luck! Oh well...

Happy Birthday Carson!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Jeff's birthday. We decided to surprise him with some pictures of his little peanut. She was a great target! Happy Birthday, Jeff! We both love you very much! :)

Who taught her those moves?

Aubrey has recently started dancing. Her favorite music to move to is the theme song for The Backyardigans. To get herself started, she swings her arm and begins spinning. We're still trying to figure out who taught her those moves. :)

Our first weekend away

This past weekend was a tough one. Jeff stood up in the wedding of one of his closest friends, Matt Smith. So, we were off to St. Louis. This is the first time that we were leaving Aubrey behind. My parents drove here for the weekend to stay with her. I think the change in personnel was much easier on her, than me. I cried as soon as we pulled out of the driveway. Luckily, I had a couple of videos and lots of pictures on the camera to look at her while we were gone.

Our trip to St. Louis was wonderful. We shared a room with Paul Richardson and his fiance, Melissa Beitz. Due to the timing of the events, we were able to sight see a little in St. Louis. We decided to go see the arch and the surrounding area. Once there, we thought it would be a better idea to go up in the arch. While in line for the tickets, Jeff began to have second thoughts. His unknown fear of claustrophobia began to come out. After much discussion, he decided to tough it out. I'm glad he did as the view from the top was beautiful. You could see all of downtown St. Louis as well as a pretty aerial view of the Mississippi River.

The wedding ceremony and reception was equally beautiful. It was held outdoors at an old plantation house. They couldn't have asked for better weather either. We were honored to be a part of their special day.

Next up...Paul and Melissa wedding in three weeks in Effingham. Hopefully, it'll be a little easier to leave Aubrey behind this time.

Thanks to Mom and Dad for taking such good care of our little peanut!
