Leg doctor
This afternoon we went to the orthopedic to have Tyler's leg looked at and determine what needs to be done with it. I met with the physician assistant first. She showed me the x-rays and let me know it wasn't bad at all. He has a hairline fracture in his lower leg. The alignment is completely intact and there is no need to cast the leg. They'd be willing to cast it if I wanted them to, but he doesn't need it. She told me he would know when he can and cannot use it based on his pain level. The doctor then came in and confirmed everything she had just told me. They said he'd be completely healed in 3 weeks and wouldn't feel any pain by week's end. Thank goodness!!

:(
What a day today has been! To begin with, I had a very rough night with the kids. One of the worst I've had since Tyler was more than a few days old. Aubrey woke three times wanting milk and Tyler needed his paci three times and was wide awake two other times. Finally around 5am, when he was acting like he was ready to start the day, I decided to take him downstairs to lay on the couch so I could at least watch some TV while he played. In my sleepy stupor, my foot slipped on the first step heading down, causing us to fall down the next six stairs. I hit my butt very hard and scraped my arm while Tyler let out a loud cry. Jeff immediately jumped out of bed and ran to us. After about five minutes, Tyler was calm and Jeff did a quick check to make sure he was okay. He cried a little but was back to sleep within ten minutes. I then went back to bed myself.
Several hours later, Kate and Ava Fasshauer came over for a play date. Tyler woke and went back to sleep for his first nap fairly quickly. He was a little cranky but I assumed it was because he didn't sleep well at night. However, after he woke from his nap and was still a little off (he rarely cries on a normal day), I decided to check his arms and legs to make sure everything was okay. While rubbing his lower left leg, I noticed he would cry. So, with some nudging from Kate, I decided to call the pediatrician to get him in and looked at. I was able to go within the hour and my nightmare came true. They decided to take x-rays to see if it indeed was broken. I stood outside the x-ray room, listened to him cry hysterically and started to feel worse and worse with building guilt. I then received the call with the results an hour later to find out his leg was indeed "broken." My heart sunk. I felt so bad. I never imagined his first broken bone would be a direct result of me falling. The pediatrician scheduled an appointment for us with the orthopedic on Monday to find out what he needs done. Until then, he needs lots of TLC. He'll definitely get it from me! My poor baby.
Thanks to Kate for watching Aubrey while I took Tyler to the doctor. You're a saint!

New to Blogging
I've decided to begin a blog parallel to updating the website. By doing so, when it's time renew our subscription to Babysites, I can switch over without losing too much content. I will enter the first two years (plus) of Aubrey and first six months of Tyler here. But, they can also be found, with many more pictures, at www.babysites.com/sites/sandberg. I'll also try to do more entries on here in the meantime. I love chronicling the lives of my babies!

Buzz, buzz....snip, snip...
Today we took Tyler to get his first haircut at Snippet's at Yorktown Center. His rat tail was getting longer and his ears were starting to become covered. So, after much suggestion from the family, we agreed it was time. Tyler sat nicely in the Bumbo chair on the stool and loved every minute of it. He giggled when Kiera used the clippers on the back and smiled when she snipped away with the scissors. He did squirm a little but I think it was only because it tickled his head when she touched his hair. He looked so much better afterwards. He doesn't look like a baby anymore, but more like a little boy. He is so handsome!

Baptism and birthday in Orion
Back to Orion again. This time we went to see Kellen get baptised and celebrate Lainey's 2nd birthday. Friday night we arrived shortly before Lainey and Kellen. Aaron and Lissy were going out to celebrate Lis' 30th birthday and the kids were staying overnight. Aubrey and Lainey had so much fun playing together. It makes it easier to watch her when the two of them can entertain each other.
Saturday we spent the day relaxing with my parents. That night, Mom and Dad were off to Dad's 45th high school reunion so we went up to Denise's house for pizza. Sarah pulled out a ton of toys to play with Aubrey and she had a blast! It looks like Little Pet Shop may now be on the Christmas list. :)

Then on Sunday morning, we went up to Orion for Kellen's baptism. He did so well...barely even made a peep. Aubrey did pretty well through the church service, too. It's a long time for her to sit still and stay quiet. She made it 2/3 the way through before Jeff took her out to play.

After the church service, we headed out to Aaron's house to celebrate the baptism as well as Lainey's birthday. It was a beautiful day outside. Lainey received a ton of fun presents. She'll have a lot of fun playing with them all. Then, home again...it's nice to be back!
