Go Cubs Go!

The Astros are in town and so are my sisters! Deanna and Denise planned a Cubs outing with their families and invited me to join them. I debated over taking Aubrey with me and decided at the last minute to leave her home with Grandma. I needed a stress free day out. So, we headed to Wrigley Bleachers and had a blast. To top it off, the Cubs won 12-0!! Thanks for inviting me. Hopefully we can make this an annual event. :)

Yum, yum!

The time is here! Tyler had his first taste of solid foods today. I learned from my mistake when Aubrey tried cereal and was sure not to make it too runny. Tyler wasn't really sure what was going on what I put the first spoonful up to his mouth. But, he got the hang of it pretty quickly. Aubrey helped out by feeding him some, too.

Empty bowl + messy face = success!

Zoo with Jack

Beautiful summer days are a great reason to head to the zoo. This time we went to meet Katie and Jack Gresko. It was their first time to Brookfield and they enjoyed it as much as us! Jack is such a cutie!

Daddy's away

The past two days Jeff has been away. We know we love to have him around and realize how much we really miss him when he is gone. He went up to the Wisconsin Dells to play in a volleyball tournament with his friends from Minnesota. Since the kids are still pretty little, we decided it wasn't worth the extra money (and hassle) for us to go along, too. So, we stayed behind.

We had a great time here though. Friday afternoon was a beautiful day so Aubrey spent some time in her new pool.

(happy face/'oh no, baby's crying' face)

Saturday morning, we woke up and went to see my college friend, Brett, play in a tournament at Four Lakes. Then after nap time, we went to see Jeff's parents and eat dinner with them.

Since we were so busy, the time sure flew by. Before we knew it, Jeff was back home. Congrats to Jeff and his friends on a second place finish, specially in such a talented field. You're the best!

4th at the Sandbergs

Once we got back home from a couple of days at my parents', it was time to prepare for the 4th of July party at Jeff's parents' house. We were to make potato salad and apple crisp to bring along. Luckily, Jeff volunteered to do the apple crisp and did a fantastic job!

That afternoon we were off to Jeff's parents for their annual BBQ. Even though it rained most of the afternoon, it cleared by early evening. We were able to surprise Jeff's parents' with the 40th anniversary gift. Jeff's sister, Julie, put together a photo album of memories from the past 40 years. They were so surprised and pleased. I think I might have even caught Ken close to tearing up!

After dinner, we were able to play a bags tourney where Uncle Don and I were repeat champions. Then we watched the fireworks all around the area. It was beautiful.

The next two weekends will be just as busy. Jeff is off to the Dells this weekend for a volleyball tourney and I'll be home with the kids. Then, next weekend we head back to Orion for Lainey's 2nd birthday party and Kellen's baptism. Can't wait!

4th in Orion

This past weekend was another extremely busy on for us. We headed back to Orion on Thursday. Right after eating lunch, we went to Niabi Zoo for a couple of hours. We love it there. Aubrey likes the train ride the best.

Thursday night all of our family came to visit. Aubrey and Lainey had a great time playing together. Tyler found the arms of his aunts for lots of snuggling. :)
Friday afternoon was spent poolside and that night was the lighted parade in town. This was our second year and was very successful. Mom and Dad are so proud of their grandkids.

Saturday morning we woke and headed back home for more celebrating.
