My favorite time to take pictures....

...is BACK! It's pumpkin time! I love to take pictures of the kids playing in the pumpkins. Conveniently enough, Johansen Farms is right across the street from our subdivision. So, we made our first of many visits there this season. Maybe we'll even go to the petting zoo this year? Did I mention I love pictures of kids in the pumpkins? Enjoy below.

Carson turns 3

Happy 3rd birthday, Carson! We had a great time at your Diego, jungle themed party. Tyler loved the snack table (licorice!) and Aubrey loved the snow cones. You are such a big boy and we love you lots!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We Love You!

One chew too many

Today was a big day!!

Yes, it is Jeff's birthday.
Yes, it is the Luau, our favorite tourney of the year. Jeff's team placed 3rd and my team won!
YES, AUBREY STOPPED USING HER PACIFIER!!!

This is such a monumental event. Unfortunately, we were gone all day long so Grandma and Grandpa had to deal with it all. But, it is finally gone. We left the house at 6:30am and Jeff's parents watched the kids. Aubrey has been slowly chewing her pacifier and her last one had the tip hanging on by a thread. We've been telling her for days that she needs to be careful because it's going to break soon. Once this one breaks, "no more pacifiers." She seemed to understand and was prepared for this to happen. However, it broke midday and she freaked out. She cried and kept asking for her spare paci. To which she was answered, there are no more. She didn't believe Grandma and Grandpa and insisted on trying to stay awake until we got home so she could get a new one. She eventually cried herself to sleep on Grandpa's shoulder a little after 9pm.

She slept all the way through the night and asked for it first thing in the morning. I told her it was broken and she responded "Oh yeah, I want my milk." She wanted it again at nap time and at bedtime but once reminded, didn't put up too much of a fight. I did reward her for being a big girl by taking her to Toys'r'us to pick out a new toy. She chose a set of Strawberry Shortcake dolls and this seems to be the perfect replacement.

So, the pacifier is finally out of our house and I have regained at least 10 minutes of my day that is usually wasted looking for her pacifier. Thank goodness. Next up, getting Tyler off the bottle and the kids sleeping a little better? Some day, some day....

Last days of summer at the park

Summer is drawing to a close which sadly means are trips to the park are few and far between. Here are some photos from our recent trips to the park.

Bring on the candy

We have a new annual tradition, Labor Day = Keepataw Days parade in Lemont. We went last year and had so much fun, we decided we'd go again. This time, we planned ahead and ordered Turnabout Pizza (yum) for the adults and got McDonald's for kids. All were happy!

The kids were so excited for the parade to start. They each had their candy bags in hand anxiously awaiting the first fire truck to come through. Only thing is, firetruck after firetruck came through...about 6-8 in all! After that came the floats and trucks throwing out candy. Of course, this is what Aubrey was waiting for. Tyler didn't know what was in store for him but he quickly caught on. He surprised us the most by grabbing every morsel that was thrown his way. I actually had to hold the back of his shirt (see below) so that he wouldn't go out into traffic to get it all.

We had a great time and look forward to next year's tradition to continue.

End of summer BBQ

Summer is almost over. Labor day weekend is here. Let's celebrate with a BBQ at the Billquist house! The kids love it as they can run and run and run. They love playing with their cousins!
