Yikes
Ok...so it's the last day of August and I haven't had a post since May 23. I definitely have a lot of catching up to do. If you check this blog...please go back to May 23 to see what is new. Sorry for the lack of updates. I will try my best to improve going forward....
First day of preschool!
Potty trained - CHECK
Dora backpack - CHECK
new skirt - CHECK
smile from ear to ear - CHECK!
The day has finally come...Aubrey's first day of preschool. She was so excited to start. She wanted to leave an hour early. She insisted on pulling her own backpack, with her brother's help. She ran to the front door about 20 feet ahead of Tyler and I. Once in the room, she barely had time to say bye to me. Needless to say, she loved it! Hopefully this continues. I'm so proud of my little girl.

Busy Saturday:afternoon = camping, yogi style
After the pirate play date, we headed out to Millbrook to the Yogi Bear campground to go camping with the Sandberg side of the family. Tyler napped on the way, but Aubrey decided to fore go her nap. So, we figured we were in for a long afternoon/evening. Shortly after arriving, we hit the pool. The kids had a blast. Aubrey could touch in the shallow end and played with her cousins, while Tyler was always in Mommy or Daddy's arms. Both kids had a blast!
After swimming, we went back to the camper, cleaned up and headed over to the Yogi staff dance show. The staffers would perform little skits and ask the kids to come up and dance with them. We held Tyler back the first time and let Aubrey go up with Caitlin and Natalie. Aubrey was very shy onstage but got into a little while holding Natalie's hand. The second time, we let Tyler go as well. He was a dancing machine!! He absolutely loved dancing onstage with the kids and characters.
Once the show ended, we went back to the campsite for dinner. Eating quickly, we then hurried over for the hay rack ride. The kids really enjoyed this as well...once we got going. :) We then settled back in at our campsite for the night and slept in the camper with Jeff's parents.
The next day, we woke, ate breakfast , played at the playground and headed back home. What a long Saturday. We had a great time but were thrilled to have a lazy Sunday the next day!

Busy Saturday:morning = aye, aye matie
We had a super busy Saturday! We started the day by heading to the Fasshauers' house for a pirate play date. Ava recently turned 3 and wanted to have a pirate party to celebrate. So, from the day Aubrey and Tyler received their invitation in the mail along with their piece of the pirate map, they were so excited to go!
Some of the kids dressed up as pirates and were so stinking cute! Ava Fasshauer is in the first picture. The second picture has Melanie and Anna Marinier and Hope Hartmann. Aren't they mean-looking pirates?

To start the play date, the kids brought their pieces of the puzzle together to assemble the treasure map. The map then led them on a scavenger hunt to find different "treasures." The treasures included pirates hats, scarves, eye patches, pirate shaped silly bands, tattoos and stickers. Aubrey and Tyler loved it!

"Are you pedaling?"
It was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon so Jeff suggested we get some exercise and walk to the park with the kids. He even thought it was a good idea to let Aubrey ride her bike. I warned him she's not very good yet. But, we agreed we could take turns helping her ride/steer/move. He was to take the way there, I'd help on the way back. Well, as it turns out, Aubrey barely pedaled at all. Basically, Jeff pushed/pulled her the whole way there. To top it off, she insisted he help on the way home, too. Needless to say, the time the kids played at the park was a much needed break for his back and I was thankful to have been "stuck" pulling Tyler in the wagon. I lucked out this time. Regardless, she was super cute riding with her helmet on. :)
