1st Birthday

It's hard to believe our little peanut has turned one!!! She is such a joy in our lives. I know I say that all of the time but I truly feel that way. Even though she is only one, I feel as if she has been around forever. It seems so long ago that she was a little baby in my arms... I can barely remember the day when she first learned to roll over... crawling is a distant memory... even her first step seems like it was months ago. Yet, she is only one!

Aubrey continues to amaze us every day. She is learning things so quickly and her smile makes us smile even bigger. She is a bright, shining star! Her newest 'tricks' are waving and sometimes saying bye-bye, so big!, blowing kisses and most recently giving high-five. We try to teach her something new every couple of days and she seems to learn quicker and quicker each time. It's incredible!

This past weekend we celebrated Aubrey's birthday with a party at our house with all of our relatives. She was such a well-behaved, adorable little girl. She woke from her morning nap around 11:30am and the party began at 1:00pm. Normally, she'd be ready for another nap around 2:30pm, but she lasted until 5:30pm!!! At that point, she was so exhausted that we laid her down for about 30 minutes just to recharge. Never once during the party did she show any signs of really getting overtired or crabby. It was almost as if she really knew everyone was there for her and it was her time to shine!!

Thanks to all of our family for celebrating her big day with us. She received a lot of lovely gifts including a sand/water activity table, a picnic table, swimming pool, a rocking chair, doll, and a lot of adorable clothes. We can't wait for her to be able to play with everything in the summer! Thanks again! We love her so much and know she loves us, too!

Also, this past week, I took Aubrey for her one-year checkup. She is developing very well and her growth is just as expected. She currently weights 23 pounds (80th percentile) and is 32 inches tall (>95th percentile ~ average height of a 19-month old). We can now turn her car seat around to face forward, start giving her whole milk and continue to feed her more and more table foods. Our little girl is getting so big!!!
