Baptism

This past weekend, we headed back to Orion for Aubrey's baptism. It was another fun-filled weekend for us. Aubrey had a cold but she was still in good spirits all weekend long. We spent time with all of the cousins on Friday and Saturday as well as going to one of Evan's basketball games

Sunday morning, the baptism was held at St. Paul Lutheran Church. This is the same church where I was baptized. Even though Aubrey was very squirmy during the service, she was very well behaved. We were able to keep her somewhat occupied with her toys and a canister of puffs to snack on. She remained calm once we got to the front of the church for the actual baptism. She followed along in the book with us during the reading portion and was happy as can be by the time the water was poured over her head. At first, she didn't know what to think but by the second splash of water, she had a huge smile on her face. She didn't want it to stop and was looking to take her turn to splash in the water, too. Afterwards, Pastor walked Aubrey up and down the aisle for all of the members to see her. She was such a little angel!

After church service, we had a very nice luncheon out at my parents' house. The food was delicious and everyone had a good time. Unfortunately, snowy weather was headed our way so the party ended a little early so everyone that had traveled could get back on the road to home.
First off, thanks to my parents for being gracious hosts once again. We are so thankful for all of your help. Also, thanks to all of Jeff's family (parents, sisters' families, Aunt Diane and Uncle Don) for driving to Orion for this blessed event. It means alot to have such supportive family. Lastly, thank you for all of the lovely gifts given to Aubrey for this event. Some day she will also be grateful and will realize what a special little girl she is! (originally posted on Babysites)
