Tyler's first year - month by month

Tyler is one today! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday (well, a few months ago...) that we were going to the hospital and I was being induced. He has grown up so quickly!

Tyler is such a lovable, happy, easy going little boy. He loves to play with balls. Any ball...big, small, deflated... He often has one in each hand chasing a third.

He is fearless. He will plow down anyone or anything to get to where he wants to go. Hence, we have given him the occasional nickname of "Frank the Tank." Someday we think he will make a great football....defensive lineman, running back?

He loves his big sister, Aubrey. He will follow her around all day long. Sometimes she likes to play with him and wants to be chased. Other times, she is simply trying to run away. She lets us know when she wants him away even though she often takes matters into her own hands to remove him from the situation. Ever hear of the forearm shiver? She's got it mastered. Fifty percent of the time, they play very nicely together. It could be worse, right? She has taught him many things. The most recent of her teachings is going down the slide on his belly. Granted, the slide is only 2-3 feet long but he seems a little young to be attempting this feat. He doesn't know any better though and has made this his new means of coming down, giggling every time.

He is so quick at learning. He started walking a few weeks ago and gets everywhere quickly now. He knows how to push the lever on the refrigerator for water. (Thank goodness there is a button to "lock" this so water does not come out). He babbles all of the time. He often says "Mama, Dada, Baba (bottle)," but is starting to say "dub a dub a dub..." Not sure what that means. :)

We love our little boy and can't wait for him to get more vocal and mobile. We look forward to what the second year of his life has to bring. We love you, Tyler!
