Indian Summer

Thanks to the Macy's Museum pass (BOGO free) from the library and a beautiful fall day, the kids and I were able to get out to the Morton Arboretum for a day of sun, fun and carelessness! I took the kids to the children's gardens and they loved it! I am amazed at how interested they became in the littlest of things and how nicely they played together.

Tyler loved splashing the rocks in the water (and anything water related) while Aubrey loved climbing everything. Her favorite was climbing through the bridges that spanned across the trees. The age limits said 3 and above, however it seemed to be no problem for Aubrey or Tyler!

After climbing, running, and playing for 4 hours, we drove around to find the "perfect" spot for our picnic lunch. I struggled to find the place I envisioned so we settled for an area under a big weeping willow, next to a little creek. The kids thought it was pretty cool so I must have done okay. I hope to be able to take the kids again next year as I think they will enjoy it even more when they are one year older. What a great day it was!
